Sexual health

- Additional InformationWe are able to give advice and arrange investigations where necessary or requested. Please arrange an appointment with a doctor to discuss any sexual health concern you may have. A Safe and well clinic runs every Wednesday afternoon. In addition to this chlamydia screening packs are freely available on request from reception for any one under 25 years of age.

Diabetes Clinic

- Additional InformationThe clinic operates twice weekly, by appointment with both a practice nurse and a doctor, for bi-annual checks and interim reviews. We have support from a community diabetic team to give more specialist input when required.

Flu

- Additional InformationFlu vaccinations should be in the practice from week commencing 26th September.
All patients aged 65 and over are eligible for vaccination.
Those patients that are under 65 and fall in any of the designated "at risk" categories will receive a letter from the practice reminding them that they are eligible.
There is one vaccination that includes protection from the H1N1 strain. We do not have any alternative vaccination.
The vaccination is recommended for all pregnant ladies at any time during their pregnancy.
Children aged 6 months and over in an "at risk" group are eligible for the vaccination. If it is the first time they have had it, it will need to be repeated at an interval of 4 - 6 weeks.
If you are attending an appointment please ask the Clinician for your vaccination. Please do not book appointments just for your flu vaccination but use the clinics provided.

Sexual health

- Additional InformationThis clinic is available for all family planning or sexual health issues (coil fitting by appointment only). It may be for general advice or patients that have symptoms that concern them. It is open for all patients regardless of age including patients under 16. The clinic is run in a relaxed and friendly manner by one of our nurses and is non-judgmental. It is run at the same time as our general clinics and so confidentiality is preserved. If the clinic times are not convenient, an appointment can be made with any of the doctors during normal surgery. Emergency contraception is also available.

Smoking cessation clinic

- Additional InformationPractice nurses can offer smoking cessation support where advice and nicotine replacement therapy is prescribed as appropriate.
Patients can also access Solihull Stop Smoking Service directly.
Solihull Stop Smoking Service is made up of Specialist Smoking Cessation Advisors who can offer friendly advice and free support to those people who want to quit smoking.
They offer support by telephone, through group sessions or even on a one to one basis.
Anybody living in Solihull or has a Solihull GP and wants to kick the habit can access the service and depending on their needs the team can offer support by:
• Group sessions
• Individual one to one sessions
• Telephone
We understand how difficult it is to quit smoking and will only help and support you, nobody will tell you what to do.
We won’t make you feel guilty or lecture you but will listen to your needs and talk over different ways to help you stay quit!
